The Way of the Roses is, in our opinion the most beautiful of all of the Coast to coast rides. It runs from Morecambe to Bridlington - a total of 270km and 2,500m of climbing.

This highly popular journey passes through the historic cities of York and Lancaster, and lesser known gems such as Settle and Pateley Bridge. We'll have the Yorkshire dales to tackle on day 1, and the route takes in some of the roads used in the 2019 World Championships. The remainder of the trip takes us through the scenic countryside of Yorkshire and East Lancashire, with superb vistas and some of the UK's finest scenery!

Day 1: Morecambe to Pateley Bridge (62 miles, 1400m)

Starting off in sunny Morecambe, we head East towards Lancaster before getting out into the glorious rolling Lancashire countryside. Pen y Ghent is in constant view to the North as we find ourselves crossing into the Yorkshire dales, courtesy of a 20% climb out of the market town of Settle.

One final hill awaits us as we climb up to Greenhow, before finally descending into our evening stop in Pateley Bridge. The scenery will more than make up for the leg busting climbs as Yorkshire shows off it's best vistas and some of the UK's finest scenery!

Day 2: Pateley Bridge to Pocklington (62 miles, 520m)

A relatively tough start to the day sees us climb back out from Pateley Bridge. Once the early climbing is done, you're in for a treat in the form of a long sweeping descent, followed by an almost completely flat day in the saddle.

We'll then loosely follow the course of the River Ouse towards the gorgeous Medieval City of York. We'll have one more small hill to contend with as we approach the lovely market town of Pocklington and the end of day 2!

Day 3: Pocklington to Bridlington (44 miles, 450m)

The day starts with a climb out of Pocklington up onto the tops of the East Yorkshire Wolds.

The rest of the day follows a very slightly downward trajectory as we weave through farmers fields, propelled by the smell of salty sea air!

This is a very pretty ride indeed with the reward of lovely coastal views as we triumphantly arrive into Bridlington!
