Join us on this tour of Holland's renowned cultural heritage and gastronomic excellence, with visits to the country's finest breweries, beautiful tulip fields and prettiest towns.

This trip offers relaxed cycling (c.40-50 miles per day) through a mixture of towns, scenic countryside and cultural attractions. We start our journey from Amsterdam, where we we spend our first afternoon doing a cycle 'warm up' of the city (joining its existing 800,000 bicycles!) and paying a visit to the renowned Heineken Experience Brewery. We leave the city along the River Amstel out to the Green Heart of Holland, where we take in its stunning rivers, lakes and meadows, finishing up in Gouda where we sample its finest cheese and syrup waffles (has to be done!). 

Day 3 takes us past the windmills of Kinderdojk to Delft, famous for its historic centre and Delft Blue pottery, through Rotterdam and finish the day in The Hague. Our visit coincides with the annual Bierproeffestival (Dutch Beer Tasting Festival) where we can enjoy the greatest possible variety of beers in the unique setting of the Grote Kerk (church). Our journey continues through the Tulip fields of Leiden and Haarlem, where we stop off for a visit to the famous Keukenhof flower exhibition and end the day in Haarlem where we spend the afternoon and evening exploring the city.

Our final day of cycling takes us north to Alkmaar, renowned for its medieval buildings and cheese market. We visit the popular cheese museum before heading on towards Zaandam back to Amsterdam, where we enjoy a final evening soaking up the atmousphere of the city.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival to Amsterdam - visit to the Heineken Museum, City cycle tours

Day 2: Amsterdam to Gouda (80km) - Green heart cycle tours

Day 3: Gouda to The Hague (75km) - Gouda cheese market, Cycle through Rotterdam and Delft, Dutch Beer tasting festival

Day 4: The Hague to Haarlem (75km) - Visit to Keukenhof and cycle through the tulip fields

Day 5: Haarlem to Amsterdam (80km) via Alkmaar and Zaandam - Alkmaar cheese museum, Evening in Amsterdam

Day 6: Return home
